Little Cocoa is the Gold Coast’s newest artisan chocolatier. Alicia started the business just under a year ago with the aim to provide weddings and events with unique and delicious handcrafted chocolates to be enjoyed by all. Everything is fresh, handcrafted and made with a whole lot of love.
Why do wedding favours play an important part in a couple’s wedding day?
Wedding favours are the little thank you gift given to guests at the end of the wedding. I think favours should be personal, edible (or else they may be left behind) and should leave a sweet lasting impression of a thoroughly enjoyed night.
Little Cocoa can provide couples with two handcrafted chocolate pralines in a white gloss box with the option of personalising. It’s the cherry on top of the cake.
Out of your chocolate flavours, which are your favourite? Also, how many favours do you have on offer now.
At the moment I have five flavours that I offer, my favourite would definitely be the blackcurrant gelee with a dark chocolate ganache. It’s tangy and full of flavour but the sweet ganache cuts through it making it the perfect balance.

Why are your chocolate so unique compared to others on the market?
The biggest difference would be freshness. Chocolate pralines are not a product that should be stored for long periods of time as they have fresh ingredients that change in taste and texture over time. Because of this, everything I make is made fresh to order and tailored by design and fillings to the event.
How far in advance should a wedding couple plan their favours?
Once you’ve got final guest numbers sorted, that would be an ideal time to organise wedding favours.
You sell your chocolate for Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day and other calendar events, but why do you love doing weddings so much?
I’ve worked in kitchens for a long time now and have been involved in so many weddings over those years. From my experience, most of the time people will go all out with the reception food, styling etc. I’ve always thought that good quality chocolate has been under-utilised at events and with something as versatile and beautiful as chocolate pralines, we could create something incredible that guests will be awed by and wouldn’t be able to forget.
What is your tip for having a magical wedding day?
The tip I have is be to organised, if you can’t organise and arrange everything yourself without stressing out, then hire a wedding co-ordinator. Take away all of the stress on the day by having someone else make sure everything runs smoothly.
If you are considering some sweet favours for your guests on your special day, then Alicia from Little Cocoa would be one to put on the list. Her chocolates are like little bites of heaven and will have your guests talking for years to come about how delicious they are.
